Russell Stagg MA MC
Registered Psychotherapist (ON)
Registered Clinical Counsellor (BC)
You may be struggling with depression, anxiety, or relationship problems. You may have experienced past trauma such as domestic abuse or bullying. You may be leaving an abusive religion. Whatever your reason for coming to see me, my aim is to make you feel safe, respected, and heard as we work together to resolve your problems.
My specialty is trauma, especially sexual abuse and sexual assault. I have published articles on the subject, including an invited article, in major psychological journals.
My person-centred approach means I do my utmost to experience your situation as if it were my own. I use the techniques of cognitive-behavioural therapy to challenge and overcome toxic thoughts, behaviours, and emotions. And if you've been struggling with PTSD or repeated bouts of depression, I will introduce you to the healing techniques of mindfulness.
When I work with couples, I focus on the powerful emotions underneath your anger. Sharing and acknowledging those emotions can actually bring you closer, rather than driving you apart.
Day and evening appointments are available.
